My Rail Coffee @ JB

Date patronised: 5th Jan'14
No. of pax: 4+1
Amount spent: RM57.10

If you love the famous Kluang Railway Coffee, this is the place you should check out. Not just they made the original coffee, they also have something about railway in here.. a train cabin! How about that?

The famous Kluang railway coffee: http://kluangrailcoffee.com.my/ (I highly doubt My Rail Coffee has anything to do with this Kluang Rail Coffee though.. if you could confirm that, please drop me a note!)

The mutton rendang is something I strongly recommend to try. Can pass the chicken rendang.

Han Korea BBQ @ JB

Date patronised: 4th Jan'14
No. of pax: 4+1
Amount spent: RM130+

I was really worried about how we smelled after this meal, but surprisingly, although we did smell of BBQ, it was not very strong. The whole experience was homely and cosy, but they could do with better service at replenishing. Either understaffed or understocked food? Not sure

The side dishes - what a spread isn't it? I love the cockles!

BBQ pork - this was kinda tough

BBQ marinated pork loin - boy, this was good!

Super fresh and green lettuc

Yummy kimchi pancake!

And I realised I forgot to take photos of the steamed egg, soy stew soup and the kimchi soup! Too yummy!

The lady owner gave my son this treat - on top of free ice cream potong for their guests!

Uncle Pou Wok @ JB

Date patronised: 4th Jan'14
No. of pax: 4+1
Amount spent: about RM60++

My brother brought us around during our short 2 nights stay in JB.

The place looks very ordinary...

The first glance.. god, flat noodles? How good can they be? They were really good though.. we had 2 medium servings!

Bitter gourd fried with salted egg - it was darn good you won't even feel like eating bitter gourd!

Hakka style Yong Tau Fu? Not something to shout of..

Fried pork strips - very fragrant

Restoran Golden Seafood @ Ampang Waterfront

Date patronised: 29th Jun'13 (dinner)
No. of pax: 6 adults + 1 child
Spent: RM346

We originally planned to celebrate my dad's birthday at Cheers Palace in Cheras for seafood but as my dad injured his hand, he has open wound, it was better to avoid seafood.

We finally decided to give this new restaurant a try. It was previously Six Happiness Restaurant.

The restaurant from the traffic light if you come from Yong Tau Fu or Giant

Side view

Quite nice decoration on the way up via escalator

But very ordinary restaurant set-up in the inside - you probably can't see many fishes here

Fried beancurd with cheese - dear son liked it when it was crunchy
Verdict: Good

Stir fried cheng loong vegetables with bean sprout - fresh as claimed

French style pork-rib - meaty

Really good fish - RM188

Super yummy chicken in chinese wine

Children utensils if you are dining with kids too

I would like it if the captain who took our order could be a little friendlier and nicer when she recommends. She made us sound like we are idiots trying to eat in 1 claimed 3 stars restaurant feeling.

The dishes we ordered were generally pricey. My mom commented, when else would they recommend pricey dishes if not when we didn't know anything.

When we were leaving, we saw some fliers on the groundfloor on their set menu and also prices per pax which could start from RM19.80. Haha.. so much of killing us softly on their chopping board. There's no harm telling us about the set menus, our house is nearby, if you could serve us better, we would be back. Now, it's quite unlikely.
